Humus is a perfect healthy snack that’s made with a few ingredients and can be used as a dip for your favourite fresh veggies or this Garlic Tortilla Chips. (Also it can be used as a delicious spread on sandwiches, salads or wraps! ) If you haven’t tried homemade humous you’re totally missing out, it’s really easy and much better than the one from store.

What I like about humous is that you can adjust the taste you like and make many different flavours so that it never gets boring. Humus is basically chickpeas dip made form few ingredients including tahini, chickpeas, olive oil, lemon and seasoning. For different flavours you can add roasted red pepper or for spicy alternative Jalapenos.
Homemade hummus can be stored up to 5 days in fridge. However, homemade alternative does not contain any preservatives, so you’ll need to make just the amount you are able to eat in 5 days.

INGREDIENTS:
For Humous:
400 grams chicpeas
3 gloves garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp tahini/peanut butter
Salt
Pepper
Coriander
Chilli Flakes
Lemon juice
For Tortilla Chips
1 Tortilla
Butter/Olive oil
Garlic
Fresh herbs
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Add tahini, olive oil, dried chickpeas, salt, garlic and lemon juice into a food processor. Puree for 3-5 minutes, pausing halfway to scrap down the side of the bowl, until the humus is smooth and creamy. If too thick add 1 tbsp of water or oil.
2. Taste and season with additional salt, pepper, chilli flakes, lemon juice if needed.
3. Serve and top up with some olive oil, fresh coriander, chilli flakes and salt flakes.
4. For tortilla chips, melt butter and cut garlic into small pieces, mix butter with garlic well until combined.
5. Cut tortilla into even triangles, brush them slightly with garlic butter and sprinkle with salt on top.
6. Bake for 350 degrees about 8-10 minutes until slightly brown on the top.
7. Serve them with humous and fresh vegetable.
